Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion tender. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup and milk; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Combine beef mixture with soup mixture, then spread evenly in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over beef layer.
  6. Arrange tater tots on top in a single layer.
  7. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until tater tots are golden and crispy.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing the beef mixture and refrigerating until ready to bake. For extra flavor, try adding green beans or corn to the filling. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
