Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter and mix in the granulated sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Spread this mixture over the brownie layer.
- Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the cream cheese layer.
- Pour the remaining brownie batter on top and swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Allow to cool before cutting into bars and serving.
Notes
For an extra indulgent touch, drizzle more caramel on top before serving. Chill the bars for at least an hour for cleaner slices. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
