Ingredients

  • 8 oz lobster meat
  • 8 oz lump crab meat
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 ½ tbsp butter, divided
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • ¾ cup Parmesan Reggiano cheese, grated
  • 12 jumbo pasta shells

Equipment

  • skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • baking dish
  • Foil
  • Oven

Method

  1. In a skillet, melt ½ tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute, then add lobster and crab meat; cook for 2–3 minutes until heated through. Remove from heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix the cooked seafood with cream cheese, ½ cup mozzarella, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Cook jumbo shells according to package directions; drain and cool slightly.
  4. In the same skillet, melt remaining butter over medium heat; stir in flour for about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in heavy cream until smooth; add Parmesan and remaining mozzarella until melted.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread some cheese sauce in a baking dish. Stuff each shell with seafood filling and arrange in the dish; pour remaining sauce on top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; uncover and bake for another 10 minutes until bubbly.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne or Old Bay seasoning to the seafood mix. You can prepare the filling a day ahead and assemble before baking. Serve with a green salad and garlic bread for a complete meal.
