Ingredients

  • 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 lemon, juiced and zested
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Large skillet
  • baking dish
  • wooden spoon
  • strainer
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and sauté for 1 minute.
  4. Add shrimp and cook 3–4 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  5. Pour white wine (or broth) into the skillet, scraping up browned bits. Simmer for 2 minutes. Stir in lemon juice, zest, and heavy cream.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and creamy.
  7. Combine cooked pasta, shrimp, and sauce in a baking dish. Mix gently to coat.
  8. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until bubbly and lightly golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Use chicken broth instead of wine for an alcohol-free version. Add extra red pepper flakes if you prefer more heat. Broil for 1–2 minutes for a golden, bubbly top.
