Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in ketchup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes to blend the flavors, then remove from heat.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the meat mixture and quartered biscuits. Gently toss to coat.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake for 28–30 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from oven, let rest for 5 minutes, and serve hot.
Notes
For extra flavor, add chopped bell peppers or onions when browning the beef. You can also use barbecue sauce instead of ketchup for a smokier twist. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat before serving.
