- Place sliced apples in the slow cooker.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
- Pour butter mixture over apples and stir gently to coat.
- Add vanilla extract and lemon juice, mix again.
- Cover and cook on low for 4–6 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Serve warm as a side dish or dessert.
Notes
Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for best flavor. Great served warm chops, roasted meats, or as a dessert with vanilla ice cream. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days and reheated before serving.
