  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup melted butter

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup flour
  • 0.25 cup melted butter (for topping)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed sweet potatoes, granulated sugar, eggs, milk, 1/4 cup melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  3. Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine pecans, brown sugar, flour, and 1/4 cup melted butter. Mix until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the streusel evenly over the sweet potato layer.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and crisp.

Notes

Make ahead: Prepare the sweet potato layer and topping separately, then refrigerate until ready to bake. Add the streusel just before baking. To make it dairy-free, use plant-based milk and vegan butter.
