Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures it’s hot and ready for a perfectly golden crust.
- In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss gently until evenly coated.
- Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan. Trim any excess dough along the edges for a neat fit.
- Pour the apple mixture into the crust and spread evenly. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
- Sprinkle chopped Twix bars evenly over the apple mixture for a chocolatey crunch.
- Drizzle about 1/2 cup of caramel sauce over the apples and Twix for gooey sweetness.
- If desired, create a lattice top with a second crust or cover with a full crust and cut vents to release steam.
- Beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water. Brush the egg wash over the top crust for a golden finish.
- Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch drips. Bake for 50–60 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
- Remove from oven and cool for at least 2 hours to allow the filling to set.
- Before serving, drizzle additional caramel sauce on top. Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature!
Notes
Let the pie cool completely before slicing for clean, beautiful pieces. For extra decadence, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and an extra drizzle of caramel sauce. If using homemade pie crust, chill it for at least 30 minutes before baking.
